Since 2007 the “Jerusalem Hug” has been organized, as collaboration between the 'Lovers of Jerusalem', the 'Jerusalem Peacemakers' and a Dutch group of light workers coming from Amsterdam.

The 'Lovers of Jerusalem' are a group of people from several spiritual and peace movements in Israel, under direction of Dvora Pearlman, established to create peace and unity in Jerusalem.

The 'Jerusalem Peacemakers' consists of a group of passionate and involved Jewish and Palestinian inhabitants of Jerusalem under direction of Eliyahu McLean and Sheikh Ibrahim Abu el- Hawa.They form an international network of religious leaders and grassroots peacemakers with the aim to create peace and unity in Jerusalem.

In Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Rob Schrama, artist and peace activist, supports the “Jerusalem Hug” together with a team of involved and passionate fellow light workers from the Netherlands: Niek Dekker, Jeannette Albers and Guido Hoogenboom. They established the Jerusalem Hug Foundation in 2009. The foundation will be involved to get international support for the “Jerusalem Hug” events.
